Pure Torture
Whoo! The exams are finally over, temporarily. I had wasted a little too much time on DRQs today. I could have done the essays, but time, baby, time wasn’t enough. Ok. I shall stop talking about it. It may be even more depressing.
We had a UK trip briefing after the paper today. Thankfully, it wasn’t a draggy/ longwinded briefing. So here’s the plan. Jeremy, Haoren, Ahmad, Pris and I are presenting to the bunch of JC2s. after that, Hao and I walked to Causeway, where he attempted to buy pumice (the rock! No kidding!) Haha! But it was more of some dry skin in his feet. I always thought aloe vera was the best to solve any problems (for my skin type that is)
It was a Friday. The afternoon was free. No dates =( so, pitiful me went to Kallang to play tennis and have Friday training with the rest of the peeps. Goodness. It was bloody warm today! One step out in the sun makes you want to go back and hide in the canteen. Of course, as usual, I got disturbed from all the coaches again. And one by one they kept questioning me why they hadn’t see for so long, blah blah.
Drills. I could do them, surprisingly. I thought my stokes will be totally gone. But my forehand’s still good, so is the volley, and the serve. All was fine except the irritating backhand. It’s very stiff and awkward. I had a really good time. It had been such a long time since I had a really good workout, where I could whack without worrying about anything and try to focus on my game.
Trouble came after my second match. I had 2 great games. One win and one loss. But I was happy with the loss. Gee! I’m no maniac. I’m happy with the way that I have played. I mean, with my performance after a long break, I still managed to ace and hold a couple of sudden death against someone who’s from sub-elite. Well, the whole bunch of us were subjected the physical right after the matches. 3.2km, and about 2500m worth of sprints right against the winds! Sheesh! I couldn’t take it. My legs couldn’t move right after that. It was jelly-like, and there doesn’t seem to be any muscles in there to facilitate the movement of legs. Even coach commented that my fitness had gone from Mount Kinabalu to ground zero. Sheesh! I didn’t know it would be that bad. Right now, I’m off to catch the match – Germany and Argentina. But, I’m sure I’ll fall asleep halfway. Adios!
